First time using your K19+?
Charge
Use any 5V USB adapter or power bank. A full charge takes about 5 hours.
Attach the antenna
Screw it onto the top connector until snug. It is needed for RF detection.
Power on
Turn the knob clockwise. It beeps and the bar shows 10.
Lower to level 1
Turn the knob anticlockwise slowly until the bar shows 1 and the beeping stops.
Phone off, pick a mode
Your own phone and Wi-Fi can set it off. Switch them off, then choose a mode below.
Pick the mode for what you're looking for
Wireless bugs & listening devices
Use: RF antenna + knob
- Antenna on, sensitivity at 1, your phone off.
- Point the antenna at outlets, smoke detectors, lamps, clocks, vents, and under desks and beds. Move about 1 ft per second.
- The bar rises as you get closer. The alarm sounds at level 7+.
- Bar full? Turn the knob down a little and keep moving until it peaks at one spot.
GPS & magnetic trackers
Use: GS button + magnetic probe
- Press and hold GS. Turn the knob down until all bars disappear.
- Hold the probe within 8 in (20 cm) of the surface.
- Move in a slow grid: wheel wells, bumpers, under the car, trunk, under seats. The alarm sounds at level 3+.
- Some trackers transmit only now and then. Scan for 5 to 10 minutes.
Hidden cameras, even wired ones
Use: IR button + red viewing lens
- Make the room as dark as possible.
- Press IR. The red LEDs start flashing.
- Hold the red lens to one eye and scan slowly: smoke detectors, clocks, chargers, frames, vents, TVs, shelves.
- A camera lens shows as a bright red sparkle that stays put when you move. Works from about 1 to 10 ft.
Other buttons: MODE switches between sound and silent vibration alerts. Hold TORCH for the flashlight; press again to turn it off.
Common questions
My detector beeps nonstop when I turn it on. Is it broken?
No. It starts at full sensitivity (level 10). Turn the knob anticlockwise until the bar shows 1 and the beeping stops, and switch off nearby phones and Wi-Fi.
It beeped once, then stopped. What does that mean?
Usually a passing signal from a phone, Wi-Fi router or cell tower. Only a signal that keeps returning in the same spot is worth investigating.
Nothing is detected. What should I do?
The device you are looking for may be off or out of range. Raise the sensitivity knob a little and move closer to likely hiding spots.
Why didn't RF mode find a camera?
Wired and recording-only cameras send no wireless signal. Use IR mode and look through the red viewing lens for a bright red sparkle instead.
Why can't it find a GPS tracker in my car?
Many trackers transmit only every few minutes. Use the magnetic probe for magnet-mounted trackers, and keep scanning in RF mode for at least 5 to 10 minutes.
The screen shows shadows when I press it.
That is normal for LCD screens and goes away once you let go.
How long does it take to charge?
About 5 hours from any 5V USB adapter or power bank.
Is it legal to use a bug detector?
Detecting devices is generally legal. Use it only in spaces you own or are authorized to inspect, and check local laws before scanning shared spaces.
